Hello, my name is Tamara

My journey has been an interesting one and yes... there is a story. My friends tell me there's a book in there somewhere but for now I will aim to keep it brief.

As one of the youngest Executive Headteachers in the country, I led two schools in challenging contexts, whilst making sustained positive changes. With over 20 years experience in education I have led a number of schools in a local authority and MAT, working with a diverse range of settings, primarily in under-served communities.  I have also had the privilege of establishing a thriving new primary school. Whilst on a ‘break’ to have children, I set up my own education consultancy, working with over 100 primary, secondary and special schools as an EAL leadership specialist working at a systems level.

As an anthropology graduate and through my work with diverse communities, both in and outside the UK, I've seen the immense value of seeking to understand first, before jumping to action.  I know that curiosity, kindness and integrity are the foundations of sustainable success. I also know that in today's world we need to be courageous in how we lead and agile in how we navigate change. This work is not soft. When it is rigorous, cohesive and intentional the impact can be huge.

My Delta has been crafted from my love and passion for education, following a period of significant personal upheaval. My motto is 'you only live once' and so I took the opportunity to create something special.

My main work is now with school and Trust teams- to strengthen dynamic, relational, connected leadership at every level. Why? Because school leaders are the architects of the future and this work therefore matters deeply.  Human-centred, sustainable leadership is the greatest lever for addressing the challenges of the current system, as well as ensuring learning prepares young people for tomorrow's world.
